@DrAW!: Thanks - I was actually looking at a macro of the daisy when this guy poked his head out and stared me in the eye and then quickly when back into hiding - when I stcuk the camera under the flower he took his perfect aggressive pose. Observing from Chester, United KingdomYes indeed... I too like to photograph underneath plants, sometimes surpring. This is an excellent shot. 11 Jun 2008 9:39am @Observing: If he hadn't startled me initially I would not have even thought of it... Betty from New Jersey, United StatesWow, I'll never look at flowers the same way again! Great find and a wonderful shot! 11 Jun 2008 10:15am @Betty: You and me both can't say I'm a big fan of the eight legged guys... @bluechameleon: thanks Alun Lambert from cheshire, United Kingdomgreat image, he looks a nasty wee beasty :) 11 Jun 2008 8:41pm @Alun Lambert: He certainly gave that appearance for the camera! @Siddhesh: thanks Fliss from Melbourne Beach, United StatesYou must have been down there to get this... I like the different view... 12 Jun 2008 1:16am @Fliss: The camera was basically sitting three inches off the ground and like Observing I'm becoming a big fan of the different perspective... I recently attended a seminar by Jack Chiang a local published and reasonably well known photographer here in the Kingston area and one of his gems for great shots was "to photograph the ordinary in a different way" it certainly seems to have paid off with this shot. Thanks to everyone for the comments made laying in the dirt looking a spider in the eye(s) worth it ;-) Earnest from Oklahoma, United StatesIt's amazing how these spiders manage to take on the coloration of the flowers they haunt. I enjoy your photos, Bill ... but you have too many to comment on as I just happen by once in a while to look at them all. 12 Jun 2008 3:47pm Eric Fry from Houston, TX, United StatesWell done! You certainly have a great portfolio! 18 Jul 2008 11:41pm @Eric Fry: Thanks Eric - it's been a great experience so far. |
