@Marie Le Corre: Merci Marie @Cia: Thanks Cia Himera from Ljubljana, SloveniaA splendid macro shot. I love the green color in the background. 28 Aug 2008 9:31am @Himera: The long grass and milkweed in the background just kind of fell that way - it was not something I really noticed until I had the shot up on my screen. @Namaki: Thanks Namaki Earnest from Oklahoma, United StatesGreat macro, Bill. Excellent capture of the web too... I'm glad this spider isn't over eating like mine was... 28 Aug 2008 10:56am @Earnest: This spider is obviously on a a low cal diet compared to yours - although a couple others I spotted seemed to be eating well. Roman from Thunder Bay, CanadaOh, what a gorgeous close-up ! Great contrasting colors on it's abdomen against the rich green background. cheers 28 Aug 2008 1:06pm @Roman: Thanks Roman - the flip side of these beasts are quite neat as well I may post a couple more shots of them this weekend. Observing from West Cheshire, United KingdomWhat a great macro Bill, just super. Is it deadly...? 28 Aug 2008 9:59pm @Observing: only to ladybugs - their tendency even if you shake the grass too vigourously close by is to drop to the ground. Although speaking from experience as a youngster if one runs through a field blindly this time of year one is apt to end up with one or two... or more crawling about on you looking to escape. We do not have a large number of poisonous to people spiders in our area although their are a couple of rarely seen species that you can find if you really go looking for them. Rags from Plano, United StatesI love the colors in this image. It is really pretty. 29 Aug 2008 3:56am |
