Lower Locks - Jones Falls

The lower locks at Jones Falls on the Rideau Canal - designated by the UN as a World Heritage Site.

Observing from West Cheshire, United Kingdom

That's a nice place, I like that. Are these locks used much...? I'm guessing a canal leads away from the lake.

@Observing: They are very busy - the canal connects Kingston (Lake Ontario) and Ottawa - the capital (the Ottawa River) all pleasure craft these days of course but in its day it was a major trade link between the two cities. Kingston originally served as Canada's capital in pre-confederation times...
