Crossing Paths

Two garter snakes looking for a warm spot to bunker down for winter cross paths in the autumn leaves.... it was so quiet on this day that you could hear them moving in the leaves before you saw them... probably not best if you do not like snakes!

@Betty: Thanks Betty - hearing them was the one sure way of spotting them as they moved through the leaves...

@Philip: Well the garters are harmless but never the less do startle me almost every time I come across one..

@Earnest: it was a fine day for warming but I'd think most have found their winter homes by now (a week or so later)...
